You'll find several channels to chat and hang out in Jungle's Discord server. This article will teach you some best practices for staying safe on Discord.
When you get in touch with and ask questions of the broader community on Discord, always be careful. Team Jungle's role can identify all Jungle staff and official Discord moderators.
As a general reminder:
Always be suspicious of unsolicited DMs, especially if they claim to be moderators or team members. It is best to find the mod within the server and DM from there to be sure.
The Jungle team and moderators will never DM asking for money, personal information, seed phrase, or QR code. Be cautious!
Only click on links from Discord servers or DMs that you are 100% sure are legitimate.
Be suspicious of links to other Discords that you get sent via DMs. If they offer mints or deals that are too good to be true, they are too good to be true.
Be careful if you recognize someone from a Discord server who DMs you. Check their discord roles. It could be an impersonator. It is good practice to find the person on the server and click on their name and DM them from there. If it is the same person, it will take you back to that original DM.
Avoid DMs
We recommend that you block DMs for Discord. In general, most scam and phishing attempts begin through DMs. Be suspicious of any requests from strangers and always vet them.
Don’t open links or download files
Avoid clicking on unfamiliar links and downloading files in Discord or elsewhere, as they may have malicious scripts that will compromise your account (or, worse, your device). Be highly suspicious of any request that requires you to install or run any program.
Use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
As an added layer of security, enable SMS or timestamp 2FA.
What should I do if I have been compromised?
If your Discord account has been affected, please get in touch with Discord and create a new account. If you think you may have clicked a link to a malicious website or scanned a malicious QR code, we recommend immediately moving your items to a new wallet.
